Lindenhofje - Amsterdam

The buildings on the Lindengracht 94-112, located in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has been used for providing care since the founding of Lindenhofje in 1616. Today, the buildings provide shelter for child care nursing home, Lindenhofje,  which is part of the Salvation Army Amsterdam.
In Lindenhofje 10 serious or chronically ill children can live or temporarily stay here, for example because the parents can’t handle the intensive care.
Extra safety
With the existing fire alarm system, smoke detectors, etc. meets the building to the fire protection requirements. Yet the owner opted for the water tap sprinklers because they offer extra security when the building must be evacuated in case of fire.
The children are not able to save themselves. With this system more flight time is created, because the sprinklers fight the fire directly and will reduced the fire in the core. Especially during evening and night shifts, when there are fewer people in the house, the extra flight time is very important.

In all children playrooms, office rooms and other spaces, divided over three floors, in total about 300 sprinklers are installed.
